Eco Truly Park – Eco Village

Eco farm

Eco Truly Park is a beautiful Peruvian Pacific coast ecological, artistic community founded on Vaisnava principles, strategically located on Chacra y Mar beach, a district of Aucallama, in the province of Huaral, one hour by bus or car (63 km) north of the capital city, Lima.

We live together according to principles of non-violence, simple living and elevated thinking, and visitors can learn and experience how it is possible to live happily in harmony with nature, others, and themselves. We are looking for people that are basically open-minded and want to practice tolerance, compassion and patience.
The architecture and values of the community is in part inspired by Indian traditional teachings and lifestyle. We are the first lively ecological educational center in Peru and have inspired similar successful projects in neighboring countries such as Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia. http://officebap.com/directory/

The community is located at 2.5 m above sea level and consisted previously of completely sandy, unworkable land, but in the last 18 years we have developed a unique organic awareness cultivation and ecological program run by an increasing number of residents and volunteers, with the goal of becoming fully sustainable and self-sufficient.
Today our community is visited by the people from Lima and all over the world, who are able to experience an alternative way of life. The surrounding area of Huaral has thus been positively influenced in terms of the development of ecological consciousness. According to recent professional studies, Eco Truly Park programs have become a model of sustainable alternative solutions for the extreme poverty that impacts more than half of Peruvian citizens (over 14 million people) living in rural and urban marginalized villages. Nowadays, Eco Truly Park is also recognized as an important tourist destination by local government and the Peruvian media, receiving over 75,000 visitors since its inception.

I am looking for a place for my son and I next winter. I am wondering if you ever have single mom’s volunteer. I am a very hard worker and my son is awesome hanging in the garden with me.

I have a minimal knowledge of biodynamic and bio-intensive farming.

    Your place looks wonderful

I also love t cook and bake and would love to volunteer in the kitchen

    Hi,

We’re a couple looking for WWOOFing opportunities withyou guys. We’re looking for something long term – at least 1 year or ideally much longer.

We have been thinking about starting our own organic veggies farm so that we might be self-sustainable one day, but we don’t have the money to buy land yet. My partner is very much into permaculture and have grown his own organic veggie garden in Australia. We also had an organic rooftop veggies garden in Hong Kong. We’re vegans, but do consume free-range eggs and dairy products.

We have experience in living without electricity/sanitation, and we are prepared to not have electricity or water supply. We are very hardy people and can bear extreme heat, since we have both spent a huge amount of our lives in really hot places.

My partner grew up in rural Queensland, Australia and then moved around Australia a fair bit doing a variety of things from circus to junk percussion to refugee rights campaigns. All sorts of things plus just travelling. He is very used to outback living, a very competent gardener and handyman, experienced in land management and dealing with livestock. He currently teaches art and English in Hong Kong but have worked in a large variety of jobs over the years. He was an active member of permaculture gardens and community arts collectives in Perth, Western Australia for years. He has worked in the building industry as well, so he has a good understanding of how to fix a lot things around the home. He is a dedicated environmentalist, and makes an effort to use recycled materials in every project he undertakes.

I was born in Hong Kong but spent much of my early life in a small town England. I am quite well travelled – have gone backpacking in countries like Thailand, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, rural Taiwan, and all over rural China. I have been a pet-carer for some time, mostly caring for cats and dogs with some experience with horses (I can also ride). I have been teaching multi-media art to children from 18 months old to 10 year-olds while trying to finish my masters in Philosophy at the local university. I enjoy drawing, painting, and making jewellery in my spare time.

I have also been heavily involved in different activist movements in Hong Kong, the most recent one being a movement against the building of an express railway which would destroy one of the few old farming community left in Hong Kong. This also gave me the opportunity to help out at the farming community, which unfortunately had to be broken up and relocated to different places in the end.

There’s one last thing we should probably mention – we’ve been taking care of these rescued cats – they’re all abused and/or abandoned and we have come to form a very close bond. we totally see them as family. We’d really like to be able to take them with us if we can. Of course, we’d be completely responsible for looking after them. They can all be outdoor cats. We have quite a number though – would be bringing 9 or 10, because we actually have 13 right now, but 3 are going to new homes next week and 1 is waiting for the confirmation. We understand that not everyone wants to take in animals, but they really are like childen to us so we wouldn’t want to abandon them.. So let us know your thoughts on this!

We’re available to leave within 1-3 months. We do not expect TV, Internet, phone-lines or anything like that and we’re not very fussy with the accommodation or food either. If you’re interested, please feel free to get in touch with us for more details anytime by email or by phone on (+852)97476247.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!

    Best regards,
    Christina

Hello, my name is Dana Latona.
Starting early Oct I’m making my way to Costa Rica and was hoping that I could add Peru to my list of places to visit while in Latin American…more specifically, your project. I’m sure that your familiar with the WWOOF program. Being as my funds are limited, the WWOOF program will most likely be my best bet to fulfill my dream of living in Latin America. I’m curious if you’d be willing to host me in exchange for work. I’d be willing to volunteer myself for just about any other work exchange you might have in mind. I have extensive experience in organic farming and minimal carpentry. Above all else, I see the importance in sustainable living as well as in the organic movement. My heart’s all in creating an alternative life style and being the change that I wish to see in the world. Please let me know if this is something you’d be interested in for any period of time. If not, I’d still love to make my way to your project. Here’s my resume.
    Pura Vida!

    Love n peace!

    Age:20
    Male/Female:female
Time Frame for Participation: up to 3 months
Hometown & Current Location: Humboldt County, CA
    Languages: English
Experience: As far as organic farming is concerned I’m still some what fresh. I’ve started working with a few friends of mine in Loletta, Ca. My good friend Troy Boylan(Creator/ Founder of Eco-Village) has been recruiting people to help with this challenging(non-profit) project. This particular project includes a local land owner who would like the see her (one acre) land’s full potiental reached. We have began clearing the blackberry bushed from the area and putting in raised beds. We hope to put several different kinds of veggies and herbs in these beds. We are trying to promote and engage multiple sources of initiative, Eco- culture Village dutifully seeks to be connected with the ever- expanding networks of – like minded individuals and organizations both local and abroad. I’m so proud to say I’m apart of this project. (Even if it’s still green. We have high hopes)
Our hopes: We will have several bioregional sites that each shows how to apply abstractions for success to a multitude of natural environments and living challenges. This is a noble and worthy goal and lifelong endeavor which possesses enough inherent challenge to satisfy all but perhaps the most extremely self-critical person’s desire for personal and group evolvement.
Ive been working at organic super markets(such as the CO-OP) since I was 16 years old. Starting as a bag girl, and then making my way up. I whole-heartedly support the organic movement. Thus is why I’ve chosen the WWOOF program in which to flourish. I want to educate myself more about sustainable living and then eventually everyone around me. Very few people care about what they’re ingesting let alone care where it comes from. Nor do they even think about the process and the effort that goes into creating their fuel for life. I want to understand and live this process.

    Best Personal Qualities:
I am very adaptable and driven. This has caused me to be a survivor. My life long strategy has been one of improving myself as much as possible in any way possible. I have found this to be very satisfying and this has helped me to achieve bliss. As my surroundings and I change, my challenge will be to maintain this balance and happiness for myself and by applying evolution and growth principles in all and every aspect of my life. One thing I credit myself for is the ability to make my ambitions a tangible reality. I have come a long way in both my professional and personal life. Many of the accomplishments in my life I can attribute to my love for growth and productivity that were inherited and adopted from my parents and people that I have had to honor to love. I developed a set of principles early in life, that are close to my heart. They serve as the lighthouse in a dark sea, helping me find my way. Here is my inherited list of principles :

    * Keep the love in your heart, and never loose sight of what your fighting for.
    * Come at every situation with respect and empathy.
    * Be the change you wish to see.

I strive to be humble but will always be starving. Meaning: I am grateful for the blessings that have been bestowed upon me, yet I acknowledge that I am capable of more and must be constantly pushing the envelope. I see the importance of utilizing every second of my youth. My life is now.

“If I am a thinking being, I must regard life other than my own with equal reverence, for I shall know that it longs for fullness and development as deeply as I do myself. Therefore, I see that evil is what annihilates, hampers, or hinders life.. Goodness, by the same token, is the saving or helping of life, the enabling of whatever life I can to attain its highest development.” -unknown

From a very young age I’ve seen the importance of empathy. God bless my parents for raising me the way that they did. There was always constant love and concern. I see that lack of empathy and respect and I believe that it is among the biggest problems we have as a society.

    Challenging Personal Qualities:

One of my strongest positive characteristics can also be perceived as negative. I’ve heard time and time again that I am a too much of a bleeding heart, unfortunately I let people’s feelings and moods affect me. Perhaps this ties into me being to analytical or sensitive. At times I take things far too personally.

Health Problems: Other then some mold allergies and hay fever I’m very healthy.
